The security camera that outsmarts other security cameras.

Sometimes to take a step forward, you have to start from scratch. Two years ago, we set out to create the ultimate indoor security camera – one that was smarter, sharper and more beautiful than anything we’d seen before.

Meet Nest Cam IQ. We built it from the ground up with completely new hardware. Everything – from the lens to the hinge to the microphones – is state of the art. And when the hardware is this advanced, all the software and services can go to the next level.

Update:

Well, that was worth the 99-year wait. As the solar eclipse traversed the United States, solar energy production dropped by thousands of megawatts (MW). That’s when our Solar Eclipse Rush Hour kicked in. Nesters across the country used less energy when the electric grid needed it most. And the results were almost as amazing as the eclipse itself.

More than 750,000 Nest Thermostats worked together to reduce energy demand by 700 MW during the eclipse. That’s around the same amount of power produced by seven gas-powered peaker plants. So together, it’s like we built a virtual power plant. There won’t be another eclipse for a while, but there will be many more [...]

But what if we could make these energy savings available to more homes and more people?
